Kiss With History:
Sam mentions Thomas Magnum, but the TV show isn't produced until the 1970's. He also uses the word "nerdy".
At La Guardia, Sam runs into a young boy who I think is supposed to be the young Woody Allen.
Al's Outfits:
1. striped green suit; green hat with a dark band; black shirt; black belt with silver belt bucket; black tie with silver threads; silver Xes on both lapels; on his first appearance he also wore sunglasses
2. white suit, shirt and shoes; black watch; five medals over his left breast pocket
Sam's Outfits:
1. black suit; white shirt; dark green tie with red and white dots; brown shoes
2. he later wore a khaki trenchcoat and a brown hat over it
3. white jacket and shirt; black trousers; black bow tie and shoes
4. again, he later wore the trenchcoat and hat over it
Al's Women:
Tina, who has a friend who knows a guy who has got a kid who works for a trainer who happens to have a sure thing for the fourth race in Santa Anita.
Beth. Sam read a passage from Nick's book: "She was a flamer. A redhead who could make Father Flanagan forget Boys Town," and Al said that his first wife was just like that.
Quotes:
Chuck: "I can't believe Phil is gone. Seems like yesterday that I was taking him up and down ..." Lionel: "It was yesterday."
Lionel: "I don't want any shooting around here. It frightens the tenants." Sam: "Well, I'll try not to get shot here."
And a man can't with his partners wife until his partner is gone. (Sam & Allison)
"I found Phil emptying a bottle with a hand shakier than a grass skirt on Waikiki. He looked like a cat working on his ninth life ever since he learned a dropper named Klapper was looking for him." (Sam, reading from Nick Allen's book)
"The heat between us was like a six-day jaunt in the Sahara, but our ties to Phil were as tight as the drunk on the corner stool." (Sam, reading from Nick Allen's book)
"Dead Men Don't Die" (The working title Nick used for his book)
"Pros rarely miss." (Sam, talking about Klapper)
Allison: "That's where Philip went the night he was killed." Sam: "Why didn't you tell me?" Allison: "You went with him."
"Why do we hurt people for telling us the truth?" (Sam)
"Oh God, I understood you!" (Sam)
"Maybe it would be more fun to just read about it." (Seymour)
Comments on Leaping:
Sometimes when I'm quantum leaping, I have really good days. Days when I win the race, stop the bad guy, kiss the girl. And then there are the bad days ... (Sam)
In a funny way, that detective might have been right. Maybe leaping from one year to another had done more than Swiss cheese my brain, because the feeling of déjà vu had just struck again. (Sam)
If I'm lucky, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life leaping around from one place to another instead of face down in a pool of blood. (Sam)
Open Questions and Logic Flaws:
How can Sam leap into April 14, 1953 when he was born August 8th and only leaps within his own lifetime?
>> Possible answer: Maybe the time his mother was pregnant with him also counts as his lifetime. I mean, although he wasn't born yet, he was already alive during that time.
Sam drank two Martinis where all he usually drinks is dry beer, tops.
He also bought cigarettes and even smoked one. But Sam doesn't smoke.
