Summary from Backcover:

LEAPER BEWARE...THE FUTURE YOU ALTER MAY BE YOUR OWN

When Dr. Sam Beckett leaps into the middle of a men's encounter group, circa 1990, he meets...Al?

Not the holographic Al from the near future, but a younger, soul-searching Al, beating his naked chest in a mock-tribal quest for primitive nature!

It all seems pretty amusing to Sam - except for the fact that his mission could make or break the Quantum Leap Project...for ALL time.

Excerpt:

"Are you alone?"

Sam made an elaborate show of looking around the parking lot. While not empty, the lot wasn't thickly populated, either. And no one seemed to be interested in a man in a Blazer talking - apparently - to himself.

"I mean, he's not here, is he?"

"Whales? No, he went somewhere to drop something off." The moment Sam said the words, he regretted them; Al was in no shape to handle the teasing. "No. You aren't here."

That sounded even worse somehow, but it was the right thing to say. Al glared at him a moment longer. "What the hell are you doing here, Sam?"

"Hey, I thought you were supposed to tell me that."

"You know the rules - you set them up! Observe, that's what we were supposed to do. Not interfere!"

"And somebody changed the rules on us. I Leap, you tell me what I'm supposed to fix, I fix it, and I leap again. That's the drill -"

"This is different."

The tone of his voice got Sam's complete attention. Al looked like a man about to jump out of his skin. He was shaking worse, if anything, than he had before. He'd left the fedora behind this time, and the threads of silver in his curly dark hair, which should have been glinting in the bright sunlight, were muted in the future, artificial light of the Imaging Chamber, where the Al of whom this was only an image remained. He kept looking around, as if expecting to see his past self jump out at him.

"It's too close," Al went on. "It's too confusing. It's ... the risk ... Sam, you can't change history this time. You can't. If you change anything, maybe I won't -" He stopped himself, actually biting his lip to keep back the words.
